They’re the largest land mammals in the world, but their population is rapidly diminishing. If you adopt an elephant, you can help the charity “Care for the Wild International” continue their great work and various projects protecting these beautiful creatures that have been injured, orphaned or require long-term care.
This adopt an elephant gift will help contribute to the welfare of Kamboyo (pictured above), an elephant born in 2005, found roaming alone after just six months of life. In the wild, Kamboyo would face various threats, including the threat caused by hunting and a loss of habitat. Orphans like Kamboyo are looked after by a devoted team of carers in the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s rehabilitation centre in Tsavo East National Park, Kenya.
Adopting an elephant helps to ensure the continued health and welfare of Kamboyo and other orphaned elephants supported by this rehabilitation programme. Not only will you be helping save these serene creatures, but you’ll also be supporting the charity’s vital anti-poaching work within Tsavo and throughout Africa, to make certain Kamboyo and his friends can return into a safe environment.
