Norwich City FC was founded in 1902. The club survived early financial problems and began to find its feet in the 1950s. The Canaries reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1959 and won promotion to the Second Division in the following season. In 1962, Norwich beat Rochdale FC 4-0 on aggregate to win the second ever League Cup competition. The Canaries were promoted to the top flight in 1972 and the team reached their second League Cup final at the end of the season. Although Norwich City lost on this occasion, they beat Sunderland 1-0 to win the League Cup again in 1985. Norwich achieved a third place finish in the inaugural Premiership season. This led to qualification for the UEFA Cup. The club had previously been denied their rightful European qualification due to the aftermath of the Heysel tragedy. Financial problems resurfaced for the Canaries as the decade continued, but help came from an unexpected quarter. Television chef Delia Smith and her husband Michael Wynn-Jones famously invested money in Norwich City in 1996.

Stoke Football Book I was looking for an unique present for my husbands 50th birthday and found gone digging when looking for a special gift. Best purchase My husband was given a Newcastle United football book for his 70th birthday last year by friends. He was delighted with it as he was brought up in Newcastle and has been an avid fan although he left the area as a youth to join the Army. His younger brother who also supports Newcastle has also moved away but is still a supporter. He is 70 on June 1st so we had the book sent to his son in Grimsby where they all live now. he will wrap and present it on the day. WE are away on a cruise at the time so we are unable to attend the celebrations. We will see the photos. I hope this review is helpful. 05 May 2013
