Enjoy a Newspaper History of United

Leeds United was founded in 1919 following the enforced disbanding of Leeds City FC. United formed a formidable back line in the 1940s and the 1950s saw the emergence of John Charles. Charles was primarily a centre back, but he also played as a striker. He soon became one of the greatest all-round football talents in the game and Leeds built their team around him. John Charles departed for Juventus in 1958 and the club began to struggle. Don Revie was appointed player-manager at Leeds United in 1961. He led the side to stability and then incredible success. United won the First Division title in 1969 and 1974 and finished in second place on five occasions. Leeds also won both domestic cups and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups. Don Revie left the club in 1974, but the team still got to the 1975 European Cup final. United eventually won their third First Division title in 1992, reached the UEFA Cup semi-final in 2000 and played in the Champions League semi-final in 2001.

Stoke Football Book I was looking for an unique present for my husbands 50th birthday and found gone digging when looking for a special gift. He is a life long Stoke supporter and he was surprised and very happy with the book. As we live in Canada I was hoping it would arrive in time for his birthday and was surprised when it arrived a week ahead of the scheduled date. 20 May 2013
Great Gift Idea We bought this gift for our dads 70th birthday and were lucky enough to get the Charlton team and manger to sign it. Even the Manger commented on what a unique gift it is. Our dad loved it and we would highly recommend . 07 May 2013
Best purchase My husband was given a Newcastle United football book for his 70th birthday last year by friends. He was delighted with it as he was brought up in Newcastle and has been an avid fan although he left the area as a youth to join the Army. His younger brother who also supports Newcastle has also moved away but is still a supporter. He is 70 on June 1st so we had the book sent to his son in Grimsby where they all live now. he will wrap and present it on the day. WE are away on a cruise at the time so we are unable to attend the celebrations. We will see the photos. I hope this review is helpful. 05 May 2013
