Personalised Dundee United Football Books

Enjoy a Newspaper History of the Terrors

Dundee United FC was founded in 1900. The club has since gone on to become one of the most successful Scottish football sides after the Old Firm. Dundee United was formed by the Irish Catholic community of the city and the team has always played at Tannadice Park. Although the Terrors reached the First Division in 1925, Dundee United was almost forced to fold due to the Great Depression. The club survived and Dundee United has gone on to win every domestic honour, including the Scottish Premier League title. The team is particularly famous for their entertaining European Cup runs in the 1960s and 1980s. Dundee United beat prestigious clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus and they reached the UEFA Cup final in 1987. The Terrors’ European form led to an invitation to play in the North American Soccer League for two summers. Dundee United became known as the Dallas Tornados and the Terrors adopted the American team’s bright orange kit colour when they returned to Scotland.
