Personalised Bradford City Football Books

Enjoy a Newspaper History of the Bantams

Bradford City AFC was founded in 1903 and the club entered the top flight just five years later. The Bantams won the FA Cup in 1911, becoming the first side to lift the new trophy after the original prize had been lost. Bradford City was relegated from the First Division in 1922, but went on to win both the Second and Third Division titles. The club finally reached the Premiership in 1999, under the management of Paul Jewell. It had been 77 years since the club had last competed in the top flight. Jewell had signed older, more experienced players and so the promotion-winning team became known in the media as “The Dads Amy". The players proved the worth of experience however, as the Bantams successfully stayed up at the end of their first Premier League season.
