(Lives In) was treated to a glimpse of the A-List last Saturday, as limousines and private helicopters poured out a roll-call of the biggest names in film and pop for the birthday party of (Age)-year-old (Male First Name) (Male Surname).
Sir Elton John and David Furnish descended on the party in typically regal style, with Elton dressed as an eighteenth century admiral and wearing a six-foot-tall hat. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley both stopped to sign autographs for crowds determined to catch a glimpse of (Male First Name) and his A-list guests.
Heavily muscled door staff ensured that several ex-Big Brother contestants were unable to get near the front door of the venue – and even the most determined photographers were reduced to taking snaps from the sidelines.
Arriving in a chauffeur-driven Bentley, (Male First Name) walked down the red carpet in a sensational Armani suit, hand-made for the event by Giorgio himself. On his arm, (Female First Name) (Female Surname) dazzled in a Chanel couture gown and a £1 million De Beers diamond necklace - while security men hovered in the background.
As the couple entered, Sir Elton himself took to the stage for a solo piano performance of some showbiz staples. Our mole inside the bash said that £500-a-bottle vintage Dom Perignon 1953 champagne and oysters were served to guests before they were seated - and goodie bags handed out on entry contained £12,500 worth of gifts, including the latest iPhone and holidays in Barbados’ luxury Sandy Lane hotel.
“Man, I have never seen anything like this,” said a member of P Diddy’s entourage. He added, “Everybody is here - and I mean EVERYBODY.”
It is believed that arch-rivals Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White managed to bury he hatchet for the evening, turning out a spread that one partygoer described as ‘like something out of ancient Rome’.
Later, entertainment was provided by Kings of Leon and members of the band were seen at the table of (Male First Name) and (Female First Name), laughing and joking with the couple, who were downing what onlookers said was an ‘astronomical’ quantity of champagne, before departing in a six-seater helicopter for parts unknown.
