The Royal Wedding: Prince William and Kate Middleton – Contents

This Royal Wedding book begins with an article focussing on how the pair met while studying Art History together at the University of St Andrews. The story goes that William paid £200 for a VIP ticket to a university fashion show – the one in which Kate appeared in that famous see-through dress.

As second in line to the throne, the book features newspaper coverage that documents first the couple’s friendship and then the romance that blossomed while sharing a house at St Andrews. After four years, the couple graduated together in 2005, William with a 2.1 in Geography and Kate with a 2.1 in Art History. Their engagement in November 2010 is also featured, along with photos from the official announcement at Clarence House. And as one would expect, Kate’s engagement ring, which previously belonged to Diana, is covered in depth. The book then goes on to reveal how the prince proposed to Kate while on holiday together in Kenya.

This newspaper book follows the arrangements made by the couple in the lead up to the big day. This includes their decision to get married in Westminster Abbey where William’s grandmother, the Queen, was married and where the funeral of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales was held. Also featured are the articles and pictures published both on the day of the wedding on April 29th 2011 and the day after. It documents the couple’s arrival at Westminster Abbey, and the ceremony led by Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury. You will be able to flick through pictures of the wedding party, as well as the beautiful wedding dress made by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen which was revealed for the first time on the big day.

This commemorative gift will also features news coverage of the carriage procession which took the couple past huge crowds and famous landmarks, including White Hall, The Mall and St James’s Palace, through to the reception at Buckingham Palace. Here the couple posed on the balcony for the traditional “Palace Kiss”.
