Hull City Personalised Football Diary

Fabulous Diary Gifts for Hull City Fans!

Hull City fought for over one hundred years to get into top flight football, struggling with financial crises, pressure from the board to sell the club’s best players, and at times, just plain bad luck! In 1910, the Tigers finished third in the Second Division following a loss to Oldham. Hull FC subsequently missed out on promotion due to goal average. In 2008, the Tigers earned promotion through the play-offs to finally get the top flight experience they craved. The wait had been a long one, but it was definitely worthwhile. Hull City made a flying start to their Premiership campaign and instantly earned praise from pundits and rival fans for the attacking football they displayed.

Our Personalised Hull City Diaries can start from the month of your choice and they are a great gift idea for fans of the Tigers. Featuring a unique selection of match reports from the past eighty years, these conveniently sized A5 Diaries are a fascinating read and useful organisers.

Diary Highlights

These Personalised Hull City Diaries start in 1930, when Hull FC had made the FA Cup semi-final after beating both Second and Third Division champions - Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle. The Tigers faced Arsenal and eventually tied the first game 2-2, after leading for much of the match, but would go on to lose in the replay.

A "success story" features in the Football Diary from 1949. After spending four seasons out of the leagues due to financial problems during the Second World War, Hull City stormed back to win the Northern Division Three. In the process, the Tigers smashed home attendance records, racked up an impressive streak of consecutive wins, and even came close to beating Manchester United in the FA Cup.

From the past decade, our Diary Gift includes a range of matches that track the rapid improvement of the club from lower league status, to top flight membership. Former England U-21 manager Peter Taylor kicked off the gradual improvement of Hull City. Featured matches in the A5 Diary from his highly successful management spell include the 1-5 win against Northampton in 2003, the 2-1 victory against York City in 2004, and the 0-4 thrashing of Bournemouth and promotion-clinching draw against Swindon, both from 2005.

Promotion - this time to the Premiership - would again be earned by Hull FC in 2008, masterminded by new manager Phil Brown. Crucial play-off wins against Watford and Bristol City are an inevitable highlight of our Hull City Diary and the reports on these matches are sure to bring back incredible emotions for every supporter of the Tigers.
