Personalised Football Calendar - Hull City

Fantastic Gift Idea For Fans Of The Tigers!

Hull was founded in 1904, which was relatively late in comparison to other professional football clubs and mainly due to the city's passion for rugby. After spending over a century striving for top flight football, the club was finally rewarded in 2008. The team had improved immensely under the management of Peter Taylor and the Tigers were then guided through the triumphant 2007/2008 season by Phil Brown. A 1-0 victory against Bristol City in the play-off finals earned Hull the place in the Premiership they had been dreaming of for so long. The club's journey from the bottom league to the top division in just five years was the third quickest turnaround in the history of the British game.

Our Personalised Calendars feature twelve reproduced match reports from our extensive newspaper archives, including the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal from back in 1930, the 4-1 win against Watford in the 2008 play-off semi-finals and the 1-0 victory against Bristol City in the subsequent play-off final.

Calendar Highlights

In addition to reports on the above matches - other highlights incorporated in these Personalised Hull City Calendars include a feature on the Tigers' successful year in 1949 and a selection of matches from the extremely successful Peter Taylor era.

In 1949, Hull City broke a series of Third Division records, as they raced to the title and clinched promotion to complete a dramatic recovery for the club. The Second World War had forced the Hull to take four years out of the league, as financial problems and a lack of players hit the Tigers hard. However, when the fighting ceased and Hull City returned, record crowds flocked to see their team play and the Tigers responded to its audience by going on a division-record run of nine consecutive wins. A special article on the entire season, entitled “Success Story-Hull City", was penned in the Mirror and this features in our A3 Hull City Calendar.

Fast-forwarding to the new millennium, Peter Taylor became a huge part of Hull City's success when he joined the club in 2002. Investing money wisely, Taylor formed a strong team and took the club from Third Division to the Championship within a relatively short space of time. This Hull City Calendar Gift features a range of matches from his managerial reign, including the 1-5 thrashing of Southampton in 2003, the 2-1 win against York City in 2004 and the 0-4 demolition of Bournemouth in 2005. The promotion-clinching draw against Swindon, again from 2005, is also incorporated in this unique Football Calendar, in addition to the 1-0 Hull victory over rival Leeds United during the following season.

Thoughtful Gift My boyfriend is an avid Leicester City Football Club fan and after receiving the personalized calendar, he immediately took it to his office to hang. This is an excellent gift for someone who not only loves their team, but also appreciates the history of the team. 15 January 2013
good product I was pleased with this product although I must say it was much smaller than I thought it would be. The measurements were probably on it but I missed them. This said I thought it was a good item. The newspaper headings were presented very well and I was pleased to say that I remembered some of them. A great present for the old and young alike. 15 January 2013
Wonderful surprise stocking filler! The calendar was for my husband who has been a DCFC fan for many years. As it was totally unexpected, he was thrilled with the gift, and the personalisation of his name on the front was an added bonus. The quality was good, and it was nice to read about the games in years long gone by, many of which he attended. 15 January 2013
Fun Present Great inexpensive idea for a christmas gift for that 'someone who you can't think of a present for'. Fair quality. 15 January 2013
